Get Involved

The Earth Institute is committed to strengthening and expanding the network of graduates from our sustainability education programs. We offer a number of ways in which graduates can remain involved in the community, including attending Earth Institute events, becoming part of an alumni board, mentoring students, or sharing your story with current students. Below you will find information on how you can stay involved.

MSSM casa ItalianaJoin a Board: Graduates of the MS in Sustainability Management and the MPA in Environmental Science and Policy programs have formed alumni boards, whose role is to facilitate communication between  graduates from different years. These alumni boards put on social and networking events and work closely with the Earth Institute to ensure our programming is in line with alumni needs. Check out current board members and see how you can contribute.

Spring-2014-Capstone-TeamBecome a Mentor: Mentoring current students is a great way to reconnect with the program and to give back, in a tangible and personalized way. By becoming a mentor, you can help current students to learn about different career paths and provide advice on career choices in an informal and meaningful setting. If you would like to be a professional mentor to a current student, please contact us. Check out the mentor program guidelines.

Isabel Ricker 2Share Your Story: Our graduates come from diverse professional backgrounds and cultures and go on to do impressive work in environmental and sustainable development. We want to continue to hear about your accomplishments once you leave Columbia and invite alumni to speak at panels and to be featured on the State of the Planet blog. If you are interested in being on a panel or being featured in a story, please contact us.
